The bun is a timeless hairstyle. It is glamorous, simple and classic. Nowadays, the donut bun variant is so popular, even little girls are sporting this kind of hairstyle.
It was last month when I bought my first ever donut bun maker at Pretty Nothings, an online shop based in Bacolod City. I decided to buy as I was eager to try what the fad is all about. I got fascinated with the results! It’s so perfect for special occasions, or even if you’re just having a bad hair day.
You might be wondering how to wear and make the perfect donut bun. Below is an easy hair bun tutorial with a twist. I decided to braid and wrap the extra strand of hair around my bun, so I came up with braided donut bun!
Here’s a quick tutorial on how to create this amazing look:
What you’ll need: Hair brush, hair comb, donut bun maker, bobby pins, and elastic hair bands.
Step 1: Brush your hair and put it in a ponytail. Smooth it with a comb as you go. Secure with elastic hair bands.
Step 2: Place the donut bun maker around the base of your ponytail.
Step 3: Lean forward and spread your ponytail evenly around the donut bun maker.
Step 4: Hold the bun in place and stretch an elastic hair band around the donut to secure the hair.
Step 5: Divide the remaining hair into two parts and braid it in a regular three strand braids. Secure the ends with small elastic hair bands.
Step 6: Wrap it around your bun and use bobby pins to pin it down.
Step 7: You may use a hair polish to smoothen any crazy flyaways. You’re done!
